Abstract: | The Simple Kriging (SK) is the geostatistical method of prediction which takes the average function of a known stochastic process. The Universal Kriging (UK) is the method for cases in which the stochastic process is not stationary, ie, the process has a trend. The objective of this work was to compare the prediction uncertainty of these two kriging methods, taking the average kriging variance between sample values and predicted values obtained by jackknife. The result was that, although there is a limiting factor in its use (the knowledge of the mean), KS is presented as a more accurate predictor than the KU (result obtained by stochastic simulation). |
