Abstract: | This work aimed to determine the bearing capacity models depending on the preconsolidation pressure at a Cambisol and Oxisol and from these models, verify the possible soil compaction due to the presence of roads subjected to human traffic. Soil samples were collected in the Universidade Federal de Lavras campus, held at Lavras city (MG) in the 0-3 cm layer. To determine the bearing capacity models ten samples were collected for each soil type and five samples to identify the possible compaction promoted by human traffic. The samples for making bearing capacity models were subjected to uniaxial compression test equilibrated at different water contents, while the samples for impact verification were analyzed in natural moisture. Both adjusted parameters of the bearing capacity model for the two soils were significant at 5% probability by Student's t test. The coefficients of determination (R²) obtained were 0.84 and 0.78 for the Oxisol and Cambisol, respectively. Was concluded that the Cambisol was more compaction resistant than the Oxisol. Among the evaluated points, the impact caused by human traffic only was observed in the Oxisol area in just one sample. The remaining impact samples, for both soils were classified with compaction tendency. |
