Resumo: Alstroemeria stands out with great importance in the flower market, due to its beauty, diverse color and post-harvest longevity. However, one of the obstacles in the post-harvest phase is the rapid yellowing of the leaves, before the senescence of the flowers. In order to evaluate this process and identify solutions for producers, the objective was to evaluate the occurrence of yellowing and post-harvest longevity of floral stems of Alstroemeria cv. Akemi. After harvesting, the stems were standardized at 50 cm in length and submitted or not to pulsing with 606.64 mg L-1 of silver thiosulphate for 1 hour. Afterwards, the flower stems were kept in different preservative solutions, prepared with 200 mg L-1 of 6-Benzyladenine, 34.64 mg L-1 of gibberellin, 1000 mg L-1 of Floralife Crystal Clear®, 606.64 mg L -1 of silver thiosulphate, distilled water + 1.0 mg L-1 of chlorine, 200 mg L-1 of 6-Benzyladenine + 1.0 mg L-1 of chlorine, 34.64 mg L-1 of gibberellin + 1.0 mg L-1 of chlorine, 1000 mg L-1 of Floralife Crystal Clear® + 1.0 mg L-1 of chlorine and 606.64 mg L-1 of silver thiosulphate + 1.0 mg L-1 of chlorine, in addition to the control with the rods kept in distilled water. The stems were placed in a room with continuous lighting with fluorescent lamps, at a temperature of 16 + 2 ºC, relative humidity of 67% + 3%, until senescence, totaling a period of 30 days. Visual quality, longevity, chlorophyll content, absorption rate, transpiration rate, fresh mass and pH of the solution were evaluated. Stems treated with gibberellin solution, whether or not subjected to pulsing, showed superior results in all analyses. Pulsing with STS favored postharvest longevity, regardless of the preservative solution. But the use of STS as a preservative solution affected the postharvest quality, reducing the longevity of the flowers.
