A multiplicidade linguístico-semiótica do gênero Meme: implicações discursivas para o processo de produção de sentidos

Abstract

The evolution of digital technologies causes changes in the ways of organizing discourses and, in this context of innovations, the meme gains space, a genre driven by the advent of the internet and social networks. With this in mind, this study aims to present possibilities of analysis for memes. Therefore, a theoretical research based on Bakhtin (1998); Dawkins (2007); Furtado (2019); and Rojo and Barbosa (2015). In addition, four memes are analyzed in the light of the theoretical framework, exploring potentialities of this genre and taking a closer look at the linguistic-semiotic-discursive resources that are present there. Based on the research undertaken, the results demonstrate that, in order to carry out a more critical reading of memes, it is important to assume an active responsiveattitude, ensuring a critical position in relation to their discourses.
