Abstract: | Due to the daily development of anthropic activities, to meet what we call progress, the Earth has been suffering losses of its green areas and discharging significant percentages of gases in its atmosphere. To deceralate this phenomenon and mitigate damages, the recovery of degraded forest environments is one of the proposed alternatives. The greatest difficulty encountered in the recovery is the choice of which species should be applied, so that the area has a covering of the soil and the return of ecological processes quickly, with low financial cost and with less expenditure of energy of the professionals. Thus, this work aims to understand whether the divisions of successional groups would be related to the functional characteristics of tree species. The study was conducted by collecting data in 25 plots of 400m², located in three fragments of seasonal tropical forest. Branches were selected of three individuals of each species present in the area and collected for functional traits data. To collect information regarding the successional classification of species, a bibliographic survey was carried out, preferably from 2018. After the research, species were grouped into pioneers and non-pioneers. GIMP software was used to calculate the traits through the photographs slides. Posteriorly, the vessels was counted and measured in the Image J software. For leaf analysis, three healthy leaves were collected and scanned. Leaf área images was measured using the image-J software. As a result, we obtain no ordering in any group through Principal Component Analysis. The species that constitute the intermediate group of water dependence, was the one that presented the biggest variability of species and there was a balance in the variability of the species in relation to the ecological group. Thus, we conclude that the species to be used in projects for the recovery of degraded areas must be selected according to the environment in which the planting will be implemented. |
