Abstract: | The red dragon fruit with white pulp is a fruit that has been grown gradually, but with great potential for sector’s diversification. It is propagated by cuttings preferably through its cladodes, to increase early and phenotypic uniformity of fruit farm. In order to maximize the seedlings production, the aim of this work was to test different concentrations of Indol Butyric Acid (IBA) and substrates. The experiment was conducted in greenhouse and, using cladodes 25 cm long. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with factorial 5x3 (IBA concentrations - 0, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 mg L-1 x substrates - sand, sand and soil, soil), with three replications and 7 plants/plot. The evaluations were performed 120 days after planting the cuttings. We evaluated the following characteristics: number of lateral cladodes, length of cladodes, fresh roots biomass, dry roots biomass, fresh shoot biomass and dry shoot biomass. It was found that the range between 1776.33 and 2299 mg L-1 IBA provides a greater growth red dragon fruit seedlings, and that the use of sand as substrate promotes better rooting of the seedlings. |
