Abstract: The article seeks, defining a living Labor Law, the political qualities that this legal area fulfills in the contemporary crisis of civilization, pointing its potential tactical and ecological qualities. Understanding the permanence, albeit politically weakened, of the protective bases on which Labor Law has historically been based, the text intends to emphasize the need for recognition of the dynamics of Labor Law, which retracts and expands, including requalifying, its horizons for the protection of workers. Based on the historical and dialectical materialism, and using a bibliographic review, it thus signals the political relevance of movements that place every form of life as an object of protection – such as sanitary and ecological strikes –, opening paths to overcome individualistic limits of legal protection, restoring human sociability based on harmonious references with nature.
