VIII Semana do Livro e da Biblioteca da UFLA: 100 anos de Vinícius de Moraes - relato do evento

Abstract

This report displays all the events of the VIII Book and Library Week at the Federal University of Lavras (VIII BLW/UFLA). This event was created by a steering committee composed of the University Library staff in partnership with UFLA teachers and students and with schools in the city of Lavras, in the state of Minas Gerais. The VIII BLW happened on October 21st-24th 2013, and celebrated the centenary of Vinícius de Moraes’ birth (10/19/1913-07/09/1980), an important and outstanding personality of Brazilian popular music, literature and culture. The week schedule was consisted by interactive lectures, exhibitions, a short course, and debates of films and attractions about Vinicius de Moraes. In addition the project “Travelling Library-UFLA Bus" was launched. The BLW purpose was to unite cultural attractions and academic events, increasingly approaching the University audience to the week. Therefore, the aim of this report is to present the organization and the events that took place in the VIII BLW, highlighting the 100 years of Vinicius de Moraes, when it was possible to disseminate, recall and provide more knowledge about the honoree’s life and work.
