Resumo: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a mixture of hydrolyzed copra flour and fermented rye (CF/FC) on the performance and parameters of gut health of piglets. In the study, were used castrated males and females’ piglets (n = 360), with an initial body weight of 6.53 ± 0.004 kg and 23 days of age. Piglets were distributed in randomized blocks in 3 different treatments, offered to the groups for 42 days: CN (negative control diet with zinc oxide); CP (CN + 120 mg / kg of halquinol in all phases) and CF / FC (CN + 2.0 kg / ton of CF / FC in the pre-initial phases of 24 to 38 days and 1.0 kg / ton of CF / FC in the early stages of 39 to 66 days). On days 0, 4 and 9 of the experiment, blood samples were collected to assess the immunological profile (TNF-α and IL-10). As for performance, the study showed that, in periods from 0 to 8 days, the animals that had the inclusion of FC/FC had higher (P<0.05) daily feed intake (ADFI) and lower (P<0.05) feed conversion ratio (FCR) than the CN treatment, in the periods from 9 to 14 and 15 to 28 days, the CP and CF/FC treatments had greater (P <0.05) body weight (BW) and average daily gain (ADG) in compared to animals submitted to CN treatment. Among the treatments evaluated, there were no significant differences for the other performance variables in the total period of the experiment. The CF/FC treatment had a lower (P <0.05) concentration of TNF-α on the fourth day of the experiment. It is concluded that the inclusion of a blend of hydrolyzed copra flour and fermented rye improves the ADG and BW of the piglets up to 28 days of nursery and is equal to the antibiotic treatment. This blend also reduces the pro-inflammatory response as it reduces the serum concentration of TNF-α.
