Abstract: | Recognized as one of the largest expanses of continuous wet planet, the Pantanal is characterized by traits such as drought and flood seasons, low soil fertility, poor access, among others, which restricted their occupation and human interference, making extensive livestock the main economic activity. Due to strong interaction between the biotic and abiotic, has resulted in a great diversity of landscapes within the plain, well, the Pantanal can be divided into eleven sub-basins. Of particular note is the Pantanal Nhecolandia because it presents a fairly typical face characterized by bays, salt marshes, grasslands, woodlands and savannas. In this sub-region, the forms of vegetation are strongly influenced by local topography and the different levels of flood or flooding, but some plant associations stand out in Nhecolandia for their continued presence in the landscape. The soils of the Pantanal Nhecolandia are mainly sandy, usually fine-textured, and the hydromorphic character predominates in some areas. The most important river in this zone is the Taquari, which serves as a landmark between Nhecolandia and Paiaguas. Due to be one of the main regions of Brazil stock breeding of cattle, management should be based on the requirements of native species of fauna and flora, integrated with the requirements of exotic animals and human needs in order to preserve soil quality and maintaining the sustainability of the system. |
