Abstract: | This study aimed to characterize the floristic composition of agroforestry gardens of theindigenous community of Assunção do Içana located at Alto Rio Negro, northwestern ofAmazonas state, by the identification of the main species present in the agroforestry sistems.Thirty four fruit and eighteen medicinal species were in the identified fifteen yards searched. Theavocado (Persea americana), abiu (Pouteria caimito), araçá-boi (Eugenia stipitata), cashew(Anacardium occidentale), bread-fruit (Artocarpus incisa), guava (Psidium guajava), soursop(Annona muricata) and Inga (Inga edulis), species were most cited among the fruit plants.Alfavaca (Ocimum basileium), holy grass (Cymbopogon citratus), bee balm (Lippia alba),mangarataia (Zingiber officinale) and mastruz (Chenopodium ambrasioides) species were themost cited among the medical plants. |
