Abstract: | Currently scientific studies have shown benefits in developing crops when irrigated with magnetically treated water. The objective of this study was to evaluate the benefits of irrigation with this water treatment on the growth characteristics (plant height and stalk diameter) of cherry tomato, Sweet Heaven hybrid. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the experimental field of UFLA, at Lavras - MG, in the period between 02/13/2017 and 07/27/2017. The treatments were composed of five percentages of water replenishment volume (30%, 60%, 90%, 120% and 150% of crop evapotranspiration volume - V) combined with two types of water (magnetically treated and untreated), two types of substrate (coconut fiber and soil) and seven replicates. The effect on plant height was statistically significant only for the substrate type, with emphasis on soil cultivation (228.61 cm). On the other hand, the effects on stalk diameter were significant for irrigation blade, substrate type and water type. It was verified that the cultivation of tomato on substrate coconut fiber, irrigated with magnetically treated water had superior stem development. |
