Abstract: | The Cerrado, though largely deforested, presents an attractive when it comes to native vegetation, due to its great diversity of tree species, which arouses the need related to potential uses of plant species of this biome studies. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the performance of the rolling three species of Goias Cerrado. Trees of Sclerolobium paniculatum, Myracrodruon urundeuva and Amburana cearensis were collected. These were obtained in city of Jatai, located in the southwest of the state of Goiás. From each tree were withdrawn two logs for laminating . The blades had obtained thickness of 2.0 mm. The following variables were calculated for each species: yield lamination; losses bark and taper; loss of rest and roll; total losses. The species Sclerolobium paniculatum showed the highest yield lamination of 53.06%, while the lowest yield with 34.26%, was the M. urundeuva. Thus, the species with the smallest total losses (Sclerolobuim paniculatum, with 46.94%) was the highest yield, showing the species most suitable for lamination. This fact can be explained by the fact that this species is the smallest basic density among those studied, which improves its workability. As for the number of blades obtained in the rolling process, the species Sclerolobium paniculatum and Amburana cearensis presented very close to the estimated values while Myracrodruon urundeuva presented well below the expected. |
