Abstract: | Research has shown the ineffectiveness of secondary education in Brazil, as well as the conceptual and pedagogical unpreparedness of some teachers, highlighting the need for investment in pre service teaching courses. Assuming that pre service teachers have common sense conceptions about content and teaching and learning strategies, this paper shows the analysis of a sequence of activities with pre-service chemistry teachers about the role of laboratory work in science education in a Brazilian University. After the reflections and discussions in class, the students considered the investigative laboratory work the most effective approach to be used in the classroom, and developed activities that, although not present all the characteristics of the investigative approach, develop concepts and foment discussions. |
