Abstract: | Violence and abuse against women is a practice that in modern culture has no place at all. This issue is being closely monitored even by the UN, where it is disengaged from resources to produce annual reports at the global level, describing the numbers of nations highlighted by high or low occurrence and continents. Femicide is the ultimate hate crime, showing a complete intolerance toward a gender, that has been suppressed and alienated from reaching and being rewarded for its full potential for years. This paper aims to revel the situation between 2001 and 2016 this scenario develops mainly from the turn of the century, the analysis of the temporal trend was made using the linear polynomial model, modelling how the occurrence of femicide behaves in the south-eastern states of Brazil. As a result, the behaviour is decreasing in three of the observed states, which is a great motivation to practice zero tolerance policies against these practices, but individually remain constant since 2009. |
