Abstract: | Interdisciplinarity (ID) can be interpreted as a principle of construction of teaching through the integration between areas of knowledge that have the same objective and that enabling an effective process of teaching and learning. One of the possibilities of thinking about interdisciplinary teaching is through STEM / STEAM education, a methodology that proposes integrated teaching of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. In this study, we seek, from different works reported in the literature, to list some of the definitions and applications of STEAM education and, from these, to establish relationships with the subject of interdisciplinarity, considering the potential of this proposal for interdisciplinary teaching such as methodological possibilities approach to topics discussed in chemistry teaching programs. It is understood by the survey carried out that STEAM education, as well as different methodologies take place in the interdisciplinary teaching being the consideration of the context as fundamental aspect. |
