| Abstract: | The objective of this paper is to discuss the possible contribution of a discursive theory of democracy to achieving democracy in plural societies. It starts with the reconstruction of democracy in classical Greece and the return to classical ideals by he revolutionaries of the seventeenth century, until modern proposals that shift the reference of democratic decisions from the ruler to the ruled, setting a new benchmark of legitimacy. |
