Abstract: | This work shows the partial results of the research which aims at analyzing the way the students from the elementary school understand the characteristics of the genres, such as their themes, language style, compositional structures and social communicative functions. The genre “haikai”, originally from Japanese culture, was chosen for not only intermingling different languages but also developing a strong feature of the Japanese intellectual work: the aesthetic quality. The methodology has consisted of bibliographic research about the genre “haikai”, from the knowledgeable researchers such as Bakhtin (2000), Franchetti (1996), Nunes (2011), Leminsk (1990) and Goga (1986, 1988), and the analysis of the data collected based on a workshop done in the PIBID/CAPES. Forty-six “haikai” texts were produced and analyzed and as results we could noticed that even without a deep theoretical knowledge of the basic components that constitute the poems in general, the students showed a systematic approach, from structural notions of the genre theory. These results can highly contribute to the process of acquiring the reading and writing skills from texts whose language is multi- meaningful. Therefore, we envision that this study may contribute to the exposition of the necessary experiences to the pre-teachers’ formation in the field of both reading and languages that merge into other voices and cultures. |
