Resgate cultural e estratégias de divulgação da ciência no Parque Estadual do Sumidouro

Abstract

The establishment of centers for dissemination of the knowledge generated through scientific research is of utmost importance for the development of critical thinking and preservation of nature, especially in places with historical, cultural and environmental importance, such as the State Park of Sumidouro – PESU, noted for its scenic beauty and ecological importance. The implementation of the Scientific and Technological Knowledge Diffusion Center is consistent with the objectives of the park, which are to enable the execution of scientific research and the development of educational activities and environmental interpretation, recreation in contact with nature and ecological tourism. Through this work, it was possible to structure the space of the park and allow the realization of a set of activities and interactive workshops to develop environmental education to visitors from different backgrounds and age groups. The focus on improving the knowledge that PESU visitor’s guides had about the historical, cultural and environmental aspects of the park, and in the knowledge generation process, aimed to enable public school teachers from PESU surroundings to engage students with the preservation of nature and the recovery of local history. This process presents an innovative approach in order to disseminate the knowledge generated, making visitors to take more than unforgettable images from the park, once they will have an idea of the relation between man and nature in this region, which presents mysteries that help man to find answers about their origin.
