Determinantes de localização da agroindústria canavieira em Goiás

Abstract

This article aims to analyze, using logistic regression, the location determinants of sugarcane agroindustry in Goiás State (Brazil), looking verify which variables to influence the locational aspects of this activity. As a result, are significant for the presence of mills and distilleries in the municipalities of Goiás, the variables: production of sugarcane (highlighting the importance of access to agricultural raw materials); productivity (because of this factor obtains higher or lower income); literacy level (the qualification of workers becomes important for the greater probability of the presence of these mills and distilleries); and income (where it has a higher income, better infrastructure to host a plant and/or distillery is expected).
