Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of exercise intensity unawareness on perceived exertion (PE), perceived pain (PP) and subjective exercise experiences (SEE) in young adults during three different treadmill exercise intensities. Twelve young adults were submitted to three treadmill exercise sessions at three different intensities (50, 70 and 85% of heart rate reserve), in three different days, for evaluation of acute exercise effects on PE, PP and SEE. ANOVA indicated that acute effort influenced PE (50% ≠ 70% and 85%, p<0.01) and PP (50% and 70% ≠ 85%, p=0.03) when intensity was incremented. Concerning SEE, it was identified that acute exercise influenced only fatigue which was increased at 85% intensity. It was concluded that exercise intensity unawareness influenced fatigue perception only at higher intensity in young adults.
