Abstract: This article aims to identify in experiences and reports issues of power/empowerment of women managers and describe possible empowerment relationships exercised at the expenses of gender relations. The presence of the female figure in management positions is a current phenomenon that demands a balance between gender relations within and outside the workplace. We opted for the qualitative research, in depth interview with a total sample of ten (10) women in senior management positions in universities from the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In this research, we observed that the phenomenon 'glass ceiling'/firewall, is permeated by male domination.
