Abstract: | Mining is essential for everyday life. Through its processing, essential products are generated for various industrial sectors, as well as being extremely important in the growth and economic development of several countries. On the other hand, many negative social and environmental impacts are generated. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to carry out a survey of the socioenvironmental perception of postgraduate students regarding the benefits, damages and risks faced by a community where mineral extraction is carried out. A bibliographic review based on the art study was adopted as a methodology, selecting the main topics to be approached and the application of a semistructured questionnaire to the graduate students. It was concluded that the interviewees have knowledge about the issues addressed, but the application of this knowledge is little used in the resolution of socio-environmental conflicts and the mitigation of the liabilities generated. |
