| Abstract: | This work aims to analyze the performance of the five largest banks institutions operating in Brazil in the period 2012-2014, through the application of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to a set of financial indicators. A quantitative and descriptive study was conducted. The results show the efficiency achieved by each institution and reveals that the Efficiency Ratio and the Operational Cost were the indicators that need to be improved in the institutions that were not efficient. The study also shows a performance analysis using DEA, contributing to the measurement of the efficiency of banking institutions. |
