| Abstract: | Countries with recent democratization face problems to consolidate the new political regime. The confidence is essential to give legitimacy to democratic institutions to stability of political systems is related to the priority values by individuals. The purpose of this article is to analyze the trust, values and attitudes of university students about democracy and how these categories are related. The results show that trust in institutions is low, but that students prefer democracy. In addition, students organize their values into four distinct systems: materialist, post materialistic, hedonistic and religious. |
