Abstract: Milk production has increased in recent years and the state of Minas Gerais owns 27.2% of national production, but most of the dairy products are characterized by micro, small and medium companies, which bring little investment in improving the quality and competitiveness, which mostly shows the poor quality of products and packaging and the lack of adequacy of labels to the laws. The increasing purchasing power and reducing social inequality among Brazilians in recent years have led major companies to announce investments in the sector of yogurt, aiming to increase consumption and sales, and with this increased consumption will provide the promotion of health among Brazilians, but the micro, small and medium companies need to make improvements in product quality, packaging and labels to follow market trends and be competitive against major companies. Given the above this study was to evaluate the quality of yogurt strawberry flavor produced by small and medium dairy in southern of Minas Gerais and its packaging and labeling, and according to the results, to propose solutions to increase competitiveness among the same in the market.
