Abstract: | This article aims to investigate the identity construction of outsourced workers who provide services in diverse production environments. We assume that the individual or collective identity is socially constructed in a socio-historical context and it is subject to continuous transformations derived from the dialectical relationship between objectivity and subjectivity. We adopt an interpretative theoretical and methodological approach attempts to understand, through discourse analysis of thirteen semi-structured interviews, employees of a company providing services of quality control at Belo Horizonte construct their identity. We noticed several negative representations of the outsourced work and the presence of a strong desire to be part of the worker’s actual hiring company. They feel discriminated against and excluded by workers effective. Their relationship with these workers can be seen as effectivea force field in which each individual seeks to exercise political power and demarcate their space. |
