Abstract: | Work safety is a theme that there has been called attention of the agricultural sector greatly ofcoffee crop due to its importance as one ofthe issues taken into account in the certiflcation, aggregating value ofthe coffee paid to the farmer. Considering the possible existence and lack of perception of the risks to the safety and health ofthe worker in the process ofcoffee post-harvest, the lack of conformity ofthe farms as to the application ofthe regulatory guidelines ofthe Ministry of Work and Employment and of the guidelines demanded by the certifying enterprises, the objective of this work was to diagnose the risks involved in each ofthe coffee post-harveststeps and its perception on the part of the workers and owners , to verify the conformities of the coffee processing units as to the application of the rural regulatory guidelines and of the guidelines of the main certifying corporations as related with the technologic levei of the farms. The work was carried out from the application of a questionnairé on thirty farmers situated in three rural associations ofthe town of São Sebastião do Paraíso - MG, defined by raffie. The owner: a manager of each farm was interviewed according to a proposed questionnairé. The analysis of the questionnaires showed that only 23% of the persons interviewed possessed perception ofthe risk existing on the farms and only 3% ofthe farms were inside the standards ofconformity with the NR's. The low percentage of farmers and employees who possess perception ofthe risks and offarms which are inside the conformities established by the NR's and NRR's is related with the poor technological levei, lack oftraining ofthe employees and diffículties of access to information on the part ofthe farmers. |
