Fatores determinantes da utilização de programas de apoio à exportação: evidências de PMEs do estado de Minas Gerais

Abstract

This paper aimed to verify which factors favor the use of government export promotion by SMEs. The sample was composed by 45 export SMEs of Minas Gerais State. The study is quantitative and data was collected by a semi-structured questionnaire. Six models of logistic regression were used to meet the objectives designed. Results shows that export performance, competitor’s relationship favor the use of government export support. The papers contributes to literature by evidencing that the use of governmental export promotion requires appropriate conditions that provide the enterprises access and use of external incentives. Among the relevant factors, this work highlights the importance of networking for SMEs to broaden their scope of knowledge and information on export activity.
