Abstract: The article is to overview the initial training of teachers in issues of gender relations, sexuality and cinema. It is part of a research masters entitled Cinema, Gender and Sexualities in initial teacher training. To capture the utterances of the students participating in the survey used the "Collecting Filmic" and methodology of Focus Group (FG) which is a tool for qualitative research. We used the movie "Tomboy "(2011) whose central themes addressed childhoods, gender relations and sexualities. For participants of the Focus Group meetings were proposed in order to hold discussions taking into consideration their knowledge about these topics and from watching the film. The empirical research arising from these procedures was articulated with the poststructuralist theories and Foucault studies, seeking work with the challenge of doing this work through these perspectives. It was noted that students participating yearn for contextualizing the themes of gender relations and sexuality and that there is a call for urgent action by the University to expand the possibilities of a continuous process of education. Finally, the film allowed broaden discussions considering education for the images in the process of subjectivities to the participants.
