Abstract: In order to evaluate the effect of addition of soybean meal and feeding management on performance and the allometry coefflcients of caiman little ones raised in captivity, were conducted two experiments at the Cooperative of Jacaré do Pantanal Farmers- COOCRUAPAN, in Cáceres, MT (Brazil) , during the period of 140 days. In the first experiment with 100 caiman little ones 5 rations with of substitution levels 0%,4.5%,9%,13.5% and 18% of soybean meaiby meat and bone meal in the ration, were evaluated. The completely randomized design with 5 replications and four animals in each one was utilized. In the second experiment with 20 animals, the daily (Monday through Friday) and the alternate (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) feeding systems were evaluated. In each period the average of the parameters were analyzed in each 28 days. Based on there surts obtained, it was found that as the level of increasing the soybean meal in the ration in the first experiment, there was a linear reduction in feed intake (PO.05)over the periods of 28 through 56 days, 56 through 84 days, 84 through 112 days and over the period of through 140 days. In relation to protein and energy intake, there was a linear reduction (P<0.05)only over the period of 84 through 112days. The weight gain did not show signifícance (P>0.05) in any of the periods tested. Feed conversion, feed conversion as protein and feed conversion as energy shown quadratic reduction(PO.05)over the period of 84 to 112 days. In relation to the parameters: total length, muzzle cloak length, there was a significant effect (PO.05) by increasing the level of soybean meal in the rations, therefore for the abdominal perimeter there was no significant effect (PO.05) by the treatments tested. In the second experiment, no influence (PO.05) of feeding management was obtained for all parameters studied. It was concluded that the substitution of soybean meal up to the level of 18% by the meat bone meal is not viable for caiman little ones over the period from 0 to 140 days. In relation to feeding frequency management, bom systems tested should be used.
