Resumo: Assuming that cultural formation can influence the direction in which those undergoing training perceive reality, the presence of music and the debate on its expressions in the teacher training environment is considered to be of great importance. Bearing in mind that teacher training is a historically constructed area and that its constitution was based on a political, cultural and social relationship in a class society, it can be seen that the area is still influenced by a traditional and conservative perspective, which trains teachers to reproduce a capitalist model of education. Thus, in order to build a proposal for an emancipatory education, which trains citizens capable of thinking about their reality in an autonomous way, it is important to look for teacher training that trains teachers capable of transforming the potential of education, which until now has been seen as a tool for expanding the capitalist productive machinery, into an education that effectively liberates the working class in intellectual terms. Such a proposal involves a transformation of both theoretical and practical studies, it means proposing teacher training that discusses the political, social, cultural, environmental and media aspects that are mixed up in social reality and also training teachers capable of building pedagogical practices that break away from traditional molds, with non-expository, problematizing methodologies that seek to transcend disciplinarity and its possible prefixes (inter, trans, multi and etc). The research question guiding this work is: “How did the UFLA PIBID Biology students participating in the 2020-2022 project perceive the pedagogical strategy which proposed establishing a dialogue between science education and music in their training?”. To answer this question, the research looked at the evaluations written by the students in a final evaluation proposal where they expressed their impressions about the contributions of music to their education. The data analysis is qualitative research, with content analysis and categorization by frequency of common ideas expressed in the students' written evaluations. Music proved to be a relevant element in promoting an education that is at the same time reflective, integrated, systematic and interdisciplinary, taking advantage of scientific aspects without marginalizing the social, environmental, cultural and political issues that are also part of the modern world.
