| Abstract: | This article analyses the process of digitalization of the Participatory Budgeting in 2006 in Belo Horizonte. At first, it makes a brief critical reconstruction of Brazilian's history. Next, it presents and criticizes the republican and liberal models' of democracy and then discusses the participative democracy. Finally, it discusses the partial digitalization of the Participatory Budgeting in a larger context marked by technological advances and fragmentation of traditional social relationships.
