| Abstract: | The characterization of regenerative layer as indicative of the future composition of the tree was made in theriparian forest in the Pandeiros river. For this proposal, 70 plots of 5 x 5 m were marked at six points locatedalong the river, totaling 420 plots. We sampled 4371 individuals, distributed in 230 species. These resultsshowed a high regeneration potential, since the richness of regenerative layer was higher than the adult layer,indicating that new species are arriving in the area, which could lead to a future increase in richness of trees.However the presence of tree species in the arboreal layer without correlation with the regeneration may bea sign of rare species or species most susceptible to local extinction. |
