Abstract: | This work presents the main results of a research that aims to discuss, under the lexical perspective, the dialectal division proposed by Antenor Nascentes (1953) with regard to the geographical area called by the scholar as sulista subspeech. The theoretical and methodological assumptions of Dialectology and Geolinguistics were adopted and the analytical corpus used was the data of the Linguistic Atlas Project of Brazil corresponding to 118 Brazilian municipalities, totaling 472 informants. Four questions from the Lexical-Semantic Questionnaire were selected to validate the hypothesis that the geographical area investigated is linguistically heterogeneous. From the observation of the diatopical behavior of some lexical variants, it is concluded that the northern portion of the territory investigated presents differences in relation to the southern part, showing the existence of two types of speech: the paulista and the sulista. |
