Abstract: | The landscape is dynamic, possessing a complex nature, with tangible and intangible dimensions, presenting a continuous evolutionary process. In this research, when the need for examples, the notorious case of the city of Ouro Preto was used. Initially a research was carried out on the origins of the word landscape and how it is understood. After this reflection, the landscapes were divided into subunits and related to the factors that influence the transformations over time, its evolution itself. Problems and needs for landscape management, organizational structures and trained professionals were addressed. Moreover, the ecosystem services provided and the need to conserve them were discussed. Finally, details of characterization and identification of landscapes, the use of remote sensing for data collection, the need for aggregation of complementary information and the difficulties of integrating the groups involved in the management were presented, so that it is possible to execute an interdisciplinary management that meets the demands of the complexity of the landscapes. The degradation of natural resources is a recurring problem all over the world, so the use of these resources requires regulation, so that it is applicable, which in turn depends on the will or interest of the population and the managers. In this sense the present work is a compilation of information to help in the understanding of the various factors that influence the landscapes. |
