Índice GUS e GSI na avaliação da contaminação em águas subterrâneas por fungicidas da bataticultura

Abstract

The concern about the contamination of underground water systems for pesticides has increased in the scientific community. This paper aims to evaluate the potential for contamination of groundwater by irrigated potato activity. The analysis was performed by evaluation of GUS and GSI index. The criteria are based on physico-chemical properties of the active ingredients of each fungicide. In this study, we evaluated the main products applied at potato crop through a survey conducted based at data information on the fungicides registered by the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil. 24 active ingredients studied for 75% GUS index does not leach, 20.8% are in the transition range and only 4.2% can leach. Regarding the GSI, 34.8% should receive special attention, 43.5% can promote a possible contamination and 21.7% impossible contamination.
