Riqueza florística da vegetação ciliar do rio Pandeiros, norte de Minas Gerais

Abstract

A floristic survey about the vegetation of Pandeiros River was done, as well as an analysis of floristic similar-ity in different points of this vegetation. This floristic survey was done in six different points, distributed alongthe riparian forest, from its source to the mouth of Pandeiros River. In each point, there were marked 70 plotsmeasuring 100 m2, and sampled all individual shrubby-arboreal with DAP ? 5 cm. Were found 201 species,distributed in 129 genera and 51 botanical families. This vegetation represents a mixed floristic composition,with species typical of riparian forests, dry forests and cerrado. The pattern of resulting floristic similarity high-lights that the floristic composition of areas located in the source portion, differs significantly of those in thelower portion of the river. The factor that probably influences this diversity is the occurrence of distinct vege-tation formations adjacent to riparian forest, including soil compounds and flooding regime, determining thefloristic heterogeneity.
