Biblioteca escolar: espaço de interação e integração da ação leitora

Abstract

This study is rightly the difficulties, contradictions and initiatives observed in the practices of use of space of school libraries by educators and students. Based on the premise that the libraries are configured as a space conducive to the construction of reading practices, it is assumed as an aims to present and reflect upon the different theoretical references discuss about the most appropriate way to use the physical space of the school libraries, also know as these spaces are used in municipal public schools. To do this, using a qualitative research, from two case studies on investigative procedure and observation records of images, reported experiences experienced in two school libraries of a city in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. The theoretical reflection supports studies of Silva (1995), Pereira (2006), Pimentel, Bernardes and Santana (2007), Arena (2009), Klebis (2010), among other authors that discuss the subject of school libraries. The comments questioning the library's operating parameters and describe how these environments are used, highlighting the significant role and mediator both physical space and how much of those who are responsible. The results show the contradictions in relation to the role of the professional librarian and the activities to be developed in school libraries. Point out that school libraries consist of space of interaction of ideas and knowledge.
