dc.description.abstract	With the end of the brazilian coffee industry regulation in 1990, the industry experienced major changes. The aim of this study was to describe recent changes through the analysis of statistical data and information on mergers and acquisitions of Brazilian roasters. The data were obtained from literature review, analysis of statistical series and survey on mergers and acquisitions in the sector. The results show that domestic consumption grows since 1990, but there was a reduction in the pace of expansion in the last five years, which may signal the maturing of the market. There was a strong process of mergers and acquisitions led by multinationals, but in recent years Brazilian groups have made some important acquisitions. The industry concentration increased and there was a fall in roasted and ground coffee exports.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	Com o fim da regulação da indústria de café, em 1990, o setor passou por grandes transformações. O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever as mudanças recentes por meio da análise de dados estatísticos e informações sobre operações de fusões e aquisições de torrefadoras brasileiras. Os resultados mostram que consumo interno segue em crescimento desde 1990, mas nos últimos cinco anos houve redução no ritmo de expansão, o que pode sinalizar o amadurecimento do mercado. Houve acentuado processo de fusões e aquisições liderado por multinacionais, mas nos últimos anos grupos brasileiros fizeram algumas aquisições importantes. A concentração da indústria aumentou e houve queda nas exportações de café torrado e moído.	pt_BR
