dc.description.resumoUm experimento foi conduzido no setor de piscicultura da Universidade Federal de Lavras, com o objetivo de estabelecer curvas de crescimento morfométrico e alométrico em função do peso corporal para a piracanjuba (Brycon orbignyanus), utilizando-se diferentes modelos de crescimento para avaliação morfométrica e o modelo de Huxley para a alométrica. Alevinos de piracanjuba foram cultivados em viveiros de terra e alimentados com ração comercial (à vontade) até atingirem peso aproximado de 1 kg. Durante o período experimental realizaram-se oito amostragens aleatórias, nas quais foram avaliadas as medidas morfométricas comprimento da cabeça (CCAB), comprimento padrão (CP), altura (AND) e largura (LND) tomada no 1°raio da nadadeira dorsal e as razões morfométricas (CCAB/CP, AND/CP, LND/CP, AND/LND) utilizando-se as funções de Brody, von Bertalanffy, Gompertz e logística. As funções estudadas apresentaram bom ajuste para todas as medidas morfométricas e para a razão CCAB/CP. As funções de Brody, von Bertalanffy e Gompertz apresentaram qualidades de ajuste semelhantes quando estudam-se as medidas morfométricas, tendo a função logística proporcionado ajuste inferior. Com relação a razão CCAB/CP, a função logística apresentou uma qualidade de ajuste superior `as demais funções. A taxa de crescimento das variáveis comprimento da cabeça e largura foi superior às do comprimento padrão e altura, indicando um crescimento mais rápido da cabeça e largura do que do comprimento padrão e altura. Também pôde ser observado que as maiores taxas de crescimento absoluto das medidas métricas estudadas ocorreram no início da vida, em faixa de peso anterior a 100 gramas. `A medida em que a piracanjuba atinge seu peso comercial, esperam-se valores de 6,78, 33,49, 4,39, 10,82 cm para CCAB, CP, LND e AND, respectivamente. Observou-se que o desenvolvimento do filé é isogônico. Conclui-se que todos os modelos estudados apresentaram bom ajuste, tendo que os de Brody e de von Bertalanffy melhor descrito o crescimento morfométrico da piracanjuba. O desenvolvimento do filé da piracanjuba ocorre na mesma intensidade do desenvolvimento corporal.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoAn experiment was carried in the fish farming sector of the Universidade Federal de Lavras, with the objective of establishing morphometric and allometric growth curves as related with body weight for the piracanjuba (Brycon orbignyanus), by utilizing different growth models for morphometric evaluation and Huxley model for the allometric one. Fingerlings of piracanjuba were cultivated in earthen ponds and fed commercial diet (ad libitum) till they reach weight of about 1 kg. Over the experimental period, eight random samplings were performed, where the morphometric measures head length (CCAB), standard length (CP), height (AND) and breadth (LND) taken on the 1st Ray of the dorsal fin and the morphometric ratios (CCAB/CP, AND/CP, LND/CP, AND/LND) were evaluated by making use of the functions of Brody, von Bertalanffy, Gompertz and Logistic. All the functions showed a good fit for all the morphometric measures studied and only for the CCAB/CP ratio. The functions of Brody, von Bertalanffy and Gompertz presented similar fit qualities when studying the morphometric measures, the logistic function having provided poor fit. With relation to the CCAB/CP ratio, the logistic function presented a fit quality superior to the other functions. The growth rate of the variables CCAB and LND was higher than those of the CP and AND, pointing a faster growth of the head and breadth than that of the standard length and height. Also it may be observed that the greatest absolute growth rates of the metric measures studied took place in early lifetime, in weight range previous to 100 grams. The measure with which the piracanjuba reaches its comercial body weight, values of 6.78, 33.49, 4.39, 10.82 cm for CCAB, CP, LND and AND, respectively are expected. It was found that the development of the fillet is isogonic. It follows that all the models studied presented a good fit, those of Brody e von Bertalanffy were the ones that best report the morphometric growth of fishes. The development of the fillet of piracanjuba occurs at the same rate as the body development.pt_BR
