Resumo: Complexity theory offers an interesting organizational analysis on open and unpredictable systems, resulting from the interaction of actors that form complex behavior patterns and adapt to environmental contingencies. As a result, its use in studies on Interorganizational Networks (IONs) is well suited, given the relational, integrated and systemic character that is present in these collective arrangements. The objective of this work is to deal with the interorganizational networks from the perspective of complexity theory. Bibliographical research was the methodology used in order to develop the study. Among other aspects, we discuss that the overlapping complexity in the networks shows that IONs constitute a system formed by the logic of “unitas multiplex”, relating the unity and the organizational whole. We also analyzed the holographic principle, in which the whole contains information about its parts, at the same time that these parts possess information about the whole. Thereby we hope to generate new debates and discussions on the phenomenon of networks and complexity that exist in society today.
