Espaçamento econômico na cultura do cafeeiro (Coffea arábica L.): um estudo no Sul de Minas Gerais

Abstract

The present work seeked to study the coffee crop business with the purpose ofevaluating the possible economical spacings between plants and their rows. So, it was aimed to estimate production function and establishment the economical resuh coming from a experiment setup onthe Experimental Farm of EPAMIG in the city of Machado, Southern region of Minas Gerais. The metodology utilized was the production function of he Cobb-Douglas embased in theory of production economic and cost theory, and kind of analyses by net income. Theresults obtained enabled to verify that, under the condutions studied, the 3,00 x 0,50 meter spacings present betterconditions in order that the farmer increases its profitabihty/ha when there are mechanization possibilities ofthe rop. It was also to verify that the suitable spacing is of 2,00 meter between rows and 0,50 or 0,75 meters between plants, denoting greater profitability/ha for hand management of the coffee tree. Through at production function of the CobbDouglas, it was to verify wich plants population that induce to economics excellent, 4.281 plants/ha, it is can obtained with the 3,00 x 0,75 meters spacing, indpendence ofthe mechanization ofthe rop.
